Welcome, Introductions, Review of handouts and Purpose
Background, the Advisory Committee and Rulemaking Process
Overview of Cal/OSHA and Labor Code Section 147.5
147.5. (a)By January 1,2017,the Division of Occupational Safety
and Health shall convene an advisory committee to evaluate whether
there is a need to develop industry-specific regulations related to
the activities of facilities issued a license pursuant to Chapter 3.5
(commencing with Section 19300)of Division S of the Business and
Professions Code.
(b)By July 1,2017,the advisory committee shall present to the
board its findings and recoznunendations for consideration by the
board.By July 1,2017,the board shall render a decision regarding
the adoption of industry-specific regulations pursuant to this
section.
Discussion on the unique health and safety hazards faced by workers employed in the medical
marijuana industry at the following worksites:
• Cultivator
• Manufacturer
• Testing lab
• Dispensary
• Distributor
• Transporter

As required by Labor Code Section 147.5 (enacted in 2015 by Assembly Bill 266), the, Division of Occupational Safety and
Health (DOSH) will be convening an advisory committee to evaluate the need to develop industry-specific regulations for
occupational hazards associated with med�ica| marijuana.
