Dear Members of the Board:
On behalf of the other members of the board of the Durham Community Foundation, and
the citizens of our small community, we wish to thank the Butte County Public Works
Department far the work in anticipation of the recent 96~` annual Durham Parade and
Picnic Day. The street sweeping certainly helped spruce up our town, ar~d the many that
participated in, or viewed the parade this past Saturday, were very thankful for the work
of your crews the previous week.
The new light pales, with energy efficient bulbs have added. a grace and. dignity that is
truly beautiful. The safety of our citizens is paramount, and with the addition of the new
lighting as well as last year's wor~C on the sidewalk trip hazard projects, and a few years
ago the revamping of Holland Avenue are all things that the citizenry notices, and
appreciates, Most recently with Mike Crunap's leadership, 30 Years of unsightly shrub
grourth is being pruned or removed to beautify the Midway entrance to tine north and
south of Durham
We wish to cam~nend the Butte County Board of Supervisors for acknowledging the
cornrn.unit~ o~ Durham with the needed safety enhancements, and the cleanup projects
now ongoing.
Thanks again to you and your employees in the Public Works Department.
Sincerely,//~
Ed McLaughl~
