Update from the EOC
The County just completed a planning meeting to pre-plan for potential local flooding tomorrow. Please
note that this has nothing to do with the Oroville Spillway Incident.
The results of the meeting are as follows:
• The Butte County EOC will be staffed during daytime hours, with EOC staff available via phone during
the night.
• The County will be referring any evacuees from localized flooding to two new shelters at 0900
Monday. The Fairgrounds will not accept any new evacuees effective Monday morning, but will
remain open until further notice. The new shelters will be located at:
o Chico— Neighborhood Church, 4801 Notre Dame
o Oroville—Church of the Nazarene, 2238 Monte Vista Avenue, Oroville
• Animal shelters will be activated at 0900 Monday at the following locations:
o Small animals—2279 Del Oro, Oroville (the old hospital at County Center)
o Large animals—Camelot Equestrian Park, 1985 Clark Road, Oroville—owners bringing large
animals to this shelter MUST provide their own food, water, blankets, and any other necessary
supplies. Camelot is not accepting any fowl.
• The areas that should be prepared for flooding due to saturated soils include:
o Nord;
o Palermo;
o Thermalito;
o portions of Kelly Ridge;
i
o Carriage Estates;
o the area between Centennial Avenue and Chico Canyon road; and
0 other low lying areas in the County.
Take care and have a good evening!
Shari McCracken, Liaison
Butte County Emergency Operations Center
