Subject:Storm and Road Conditions Update
Good Morning.
The most recent storm arrived last night with winds gusts and quite a bit of moisture. Snow levels were down around
2,400 feet, so we have snow in Cohasset, above Paradise, and above Forest Ranch. We also have flooding in some typical
areas in,the County from the heavy rains.
Chain Requirements:
Ji
• Skyway above Lake De Sabla (suggested north of Pent z Road.)
• Cohasset Road above the Cohasset Store
• HWY 32 -13 miles east of Forest Ranch to the HWY 36 junction (per Caltrans)
Waste Collection,
Waste Management is having some issues servicing their customers in higher elevations due to snow. We have not
heard the same issue with Northern at this point.Waste Management will be issuing a robo-call to affected customers.
Flooding
Several roads along the west side are flooded due to rising levels in the Sacramento River.We also have some road
closures in the Palermo area, See the f0 list at the bottom of this email.
Water is flooding over HWY 99 north of Chico, but CHP is currently allowing traffic to continue through.Station 41 is
stocked with sand and bags for residents who may see flooding because of this rise in water.
We will continue to keep the public informed using ButteCounty.net for a list of road closures and sandbag locations.
We will also use Twitter and Facebook to keep the public andl the media informed about emergent issues, such as new
road closures, chain controls, or potential flooding.
