... and to all who possess the civic responsibility to uphold due process in local government.
Defend Rural Farm Communities. Stanley Park,the agricultural side of the Greenline in Butte County,faces
neighborhood character elimination.The character of the Stanley Ave VLDR1.0 neighborhood...what does that mean?
Quiet. Fresh farming orchard air. Spacious vegetable garden areas. Modest homes that complement the rural farm
character of Stanley Park. Farm sounds in the distance; a moo,a cluck,or whinny.Conversations with open,friendly,
considerate neighbors who 'look out for each other'.The character is homes,trees, animals and people living on
spacious lots. It's that simple.
The issue: A rural,farm neighborhood becoming a subdivision neighborhood.Subdivision character is high density living;
abutted houses, maximized for profit, covering as much of the usable soil as legally allowable on 0.19 acre lots.
Character replaced. Homes so close together their shade inhibits vegetables and fruit trees from growing, impractical lot
sizes for most farm animals.The subdivision character is more cars, noise, dodging traffic, breathing exhaust;the sort of
character Stanley Ave homeowners have moved away from, intentionally.
Setting a BAD PRECEDENT. Most concerning to me is that developers and lawyers will use this subdivision as a precedent
until Stanley Park's rural farm character is gone. If this happens, then the Butte County General Plan 2030 along with the
Jan 27th, 2015 Butte County Zoning Ordinance Amendments were not followed. Codes, General Plans, and Zoning
Ordinances should have prevented the application from being accepted. Please defend rural farm neighborhoods
EVERYWHERE by attending the Butte County Supervisor's Meeting at 25 County Center Dr., Oroville on Thursday, Sept.
27th at 9:00 AM. Cluster development could happen in your neighborhood,too.
