Subject: State of Jefferson
Board of Supervisors,
My name is Angela Casler from Paradise, CA. I recently read an article in the Enterprise Record that Butte County Board
of Supervisors would be considering a vote on Oct. 22 regarding the State of Jefferson. In case I am unable to make that
particular meeting, I wanted to send you my thoughts on this issue. Our state is so divided in the long-term vision for the
state. Representation of rural community values is vastly under-represented at the Capital and within our Assembly and
Senate. The citizens of Butte County are at a disservice as our votes do not even count in this state.
Butte County recently wrote a letter to the governor requesting a delay to the Truck and Bus Regulation and has not
even received a response. Our state government is completely overwhelmed and cannot even respond to letters of
inquiry, and I find this shameful. So I just wanted to let you all know that since we do not have a voice in Sacramento,
then I support separating from the state of CA.
We have the human talent, the business and property tax revenue, the natural resources, and the family values that will
ensure the successful separation. Please stand up for your constituents. This is a critical juncture in state history. This is a
critical time for the county's long-term path.
Many thanks!
Angela Casler
