HomeMy WebLinkAboutEmail from Butte County employee Martin McReynolds regarding negotiations Sweeney, Kathleen From: martin mcreynolds [martinmcreynolds@hotmail.com] Sent: Wednesday, December 11, 2013 9:20 PM To: Connelly, Bill; Wahl, Larry; Kirk, Maureen; BOS District 4; Teeter, Doug Subject: board meeting comment First let me apologize for any disruption to the Boards meeting agenda yesterday. As a member of the Board of Directors for BCEA, I want you to know our goal is only to have our voice heard and to be treated with the respect and professionalism we rightfully deserve. At the meeting I asked Brian Ring about the grievance process of the BCMEA contract he was asking you to approve because i wanted the Board to know they where trying to change the process to give complete control of the process and final say as to what qualifies as a grievance solely to Brian Ring. I am at a loss as to why the head of our HR Dept would be pushing to silence employees instead of working amicably with us to raise morale as it is at an all time low under his direction. I also wanted to elaborate on the comment made by Rudy Jenkins regarding the County's lawyer overseeing negotiations with BCEA. When asked for a date when Jack would be available to be present for negotiations, Jack stated I don't know January 42nd maybe. It was very disappointing to witness the lack of disrespect and how unprofessional a lawyer representing our elected Board of Supervisors at 300$ an hour acted. I would ask that the Board look into this incident and take appropriate action to make sure his blatant disrespect will not be tolerated by the citizens of Butte County. I take great pride in my professionalism and in the way I represent the County as I know you all do as well. I look forward to working with the Board to ensure the expectation that anyone that does not live in our County but is paid to represent us, will do so as well. I thank you for your time.
