Perishable food items include: meat, poultry, fish, soft cheese, milk, eggs, leftovers and deli items. If your home is damaged by the fire and you find non-perishable food items, high temperatures may have caused the packaging to fail and the contents to become contaminated. When in doubt, throw it out.
