Subject:Simmons Fire Update
Good afternoon—
A fire is burning near Simmons Road and HWY 162. The fire is currently 50 acres and the resources are making,good
progress on the fire. Winds are low,so the weather is cooperating.
An Immediate Evacuation Order is in place for the area of Simmons, Road at HWY 162 including areas to the east and
north of the intersection. HWY 162 is primary way out for folks on Simmons Road, so it is important for people to
evacuate in, case the fire runs up to the area.
The traffic is being controlled at HWY 162 and Simmonds Road.
There is no shelter established right now, but we are monitoring the needs given the heat today.
