Good,Afternoon Supervisors,
The Butte County Farm Bureau respectfully requests you deny the appeal for Tentative Subdivision Map TSM16-0002
until the applicant can put forward a tentative subdivision map and plan that allows for a 300 foot agricultural buffer on
the property line on the south side of the project.The Butte County Farris Bureau has a lengthy history of supporting
agricultural land owners and their ability to farm their parcels without unnecessary impacts from urban development. It
is for that reason we support the long standing 300 foot agricultural buffer from residential development.We also
believe that should the 300 foot buffer be reduced for this project, an unnecessary precedent will be set and future
projects will see the 300 foot buffer as negotiable.The agricultural parcel to the south of the proposed subdivision will
remain in production agriculture in perpetuity as set forth by the agricultural conservation easement placedon the
property by the landowner in 2012.
We believe the experience of living next to an agricultural parcel for the potential new residents of any newly built
homes in the VLIbR zoned area adjacent to the agricultural parcel south of the proposed project will be more positive
with the 300 foot buffer in place.Thank you in advance for your attention to this request. If you have questions, please
