Recoloigy was a good company to work with; their rates were competitive and they were always accurate with their billings and responsive when I needed to add or drop a green waste can. Under the new county garbage contract, I am now being forced to do business with Waste Management. With Recology, my monthly rate included weekly pickup of recyclables and green waste, and now apparently with Waste Management, their intent is to only pick up recyclables and green waste every other week. This equates to a 50% reduction in two of the three elements of my service, which is unacceptable and not what was promised. If allowed to stand, this change will result in more green waste and recycle materials finding their way into the waste stream as I do, not intend to, pay 50% more for those two elements of service. Ironically, the glossy mailer that was, sent out to county residents explaining the new service terms included some Frequently Asked Questions, one of which was "'What will change?" Answer: "Very iittle. Some residents may get a new hauler, receive more services, (my emphasis) or see a slight change in rates." 1: urge the Supervisors to insist that Waste Management either restore weekly service or reduce their rates to reflect the loss of value. Thanks for your time and consideration, of this matter. Sincerely, Dennis Michum 4190, Rio Grande Drive Chico, CA 95973 (530) 18-71011
