PleaseJulie Atwood
Please join me in writing to the Butte County Supervisors in support of the Fire Cat Advocacy Proposal.
Please be respectful. The supervisors have a tremendous burden to shoulder over the next months and years.
I am advocating for the county to allow Camp Fire Pet Rescue and Reunification to establish and maintain feed,
care, tracking, trapping and reunification services in the neighborhoods affected by the Camp Fire.
These services will be provided at no cost to the county.
It is important to note that the volunteer resources providing these services are in no way criticizing county animal
disaster response resources, but rather are proposing temporary provisions that would enable the PRR team to
expand support services that county resources are not currently able to provide to the extent needed.
This Team has proven its willingness and ability to work collaboratively, respectfully, and in full compliance with the
protocols and regulations of BCAC and NVADG. They are a tremendous asset and have saved and reunited several
hundred pets to date.
Their focus on recruiting and training local residents and fire survivors to sustain these programs is healing, as well
as productive.
I believe that many of these volunteers will step up to become Animal Disaster Service Workers, adding more
valuable resources to be at the ready for future incidents.
