We demonstrated how flawed the traffic study had been and how the proposal did not meet the requirements of cluster development and planned unit development as well as the general plan. The most important issue that every speaker discussed was how totally incompatible a cluster development is to our neighborhood and yet you chose to ignore that and most of what we brought up. The number one priority of the Butte County Planning Commission is to support and represent all Butte County residents, not to assist in procuring the most financial gain for one developer. Mr. Leen does not need to destroy a neighborhood in order to make money on his investment of land on Stanley Avenue. He could make a nice profit on developing the land appropriately with six or seven houses on one acre lots. Since this is your first action on cluster development, one would hope that you would be extremely careful about how you vote as it will set a precedent that could not just destroy one neighborhood but many.
