RE: Regulatory Statutes for Short-Term Rentals Proposal on 2113118
Understanding taxation is the basis for county revenues (specialty programs, general
public safety and maintenance), we are asking the board to consider Airbnb
regulations be kept minimal, especially for people who occasionally rent their
dwellings.
As retired educators and county residents since graduating from CSUC, we found the
2017 Airbnb income nearly paid for our home's Butte County taxes. Most importantly,
we live in that same rural residence and need the extra income to stay. (We all know
the costs of living continue to increase faster than limited retirement incomes).
Please go lightly when considering taxes for using Airbnb. Thank you for your
consideration.
