I am writing to all of you, because all of you are making a very important decision tomorrow. I cannot be at the meeting.
I’d like to offer encouragement and say, “ May the Force Be With YOU.” You all have to be as sick and tired of this
marijuana nonsense as the rest of us.
For the record, as far as I am concerned, the marijuana people have shown their colors in NEON with this MC3 petition.
COMMERICAL CANNIBAS CULTIVATION. Who didn’t see that coming?
We went from giving them the right to have their medical marijuana years ago in CA,
to Butte County powers that be, giving them the foothold into this county with the debacle of the 99 Plants –

Then we had to live with that decision in the county and deal with the wave of crime, smells, invasion from out of state ,
damage to the environment – I could go on and on. Every facet of our lifestyle’s have been challenged by pot being
grown in our neighborhood’s and this county.
Next we had to go through the whole process of getting Measure A passed to correct the 99 plant ordinance and get
some control over the grows in residential areas.
I can tell you without any hesitation, that MEASURE A, Code Enforcement Agents, Butte County Sheriff’s office, SEU and
BINTF all worked a miracle in the Greater Mt. Ida area in District 1 near Lake Oroville in 2015. Protocol’s were followed
and they all went to work. This place was being overrun with pot growers and every kind of dirtbag from 47 states and
several foreign countries. I know what I am talking about. I saw the cars, the license plates, saw the people, heard their
accents, smelled the pot, heard the trucks and trailers day and night. My husband and I watched 12 rounds of gunfire
erupt one Dec night into a house right across street from us. WHAT OVER? – POT! The whole neighborhood was in
chaos; it was circus day and night, 24/7. I’m not exaggerating. Law Enforcement, Sheriff deputies, undercover detectives,
CHP, CAlfire, Fish and Wildlife patrols were up in this area for probably 2 years. They responded to our calls for help over
and over and over. Without the HUGE collaborative effort of you folks to get Measure A on the ballot, the voters, the
Sheriff, Code Enforcement and our District Attorney going after these jerks, God only knows what this place would be
like now. WE are grateful.
If we loose Measures A, G, H and what little control we have now, we are done. Our way of life, our county, our security,
our property, everything will be ruined.
I will tell you that if Butte County goes to the Pot Growers, I will want to leave California too. I know so many people
who have left this state. North Carolina, Wyoming, Ogden Utah ( and I’m not even Mormon) are looking pretty good.
So here we are all over again, fighting to keep Butte County a safe, beautiful and secure place to live without all of the
collateral issues that marijuana growing causes.
How did these pot people have the audacity and hubris to go from “we want to be able to grow our MEDICAL
MARIJUANA,” which under Measure A, they can certainly do, to COMMERCIAL GROWS AND BEING ABLE TO GROW,
PROCESS and TRANSPORT marijuana and honey oil???? WHAT? There must be some very expensive high powered
lawyers from LA and Sacramento being paid to write that initiative. Heck, if that nonsense passes, Butte County will be
Marijuana growing central for the entire state. We have it all here: great soil, water, west facing hills with abundant
sunshine, wide open land, hidey holes for growing illegally, a limited number of law enforcement and code enforcement
and a state government willing to let it all go “to pot.” … a perfect storm for a disaster.
If they are calling it “medical marijuana,” then it is a drug, right? So why isn’t this “medicinal plant” being grown like any
other plant product used in the manufacture of a drug? If they need “their medicine,” then it’s “ A drug” and it should
only be dispensed in a pharmacy. It’s logical.
Marijuana is not a normal crop. It’s not rice, plums, peaches, oranges, walnuts or olives! Iit’s a drug.
These people are all about money, that’s it.
This whole marijuana situation is out of hand and is an abomination.
As a voter in this county and a supporter of the BOS, I most certainly hope you will put this MC3 nonsense to the test. AT
this point, I suppose the only thing to do is put it on the ballot. Will we have to go through the pot issue every election? I
hope that the county votes see through the pot people and their prevarications – they twist and flip the whole issue.
This is not about medical marijuana, it’s about money.
