His plan is to build Transition Housing for the homeless, on 1 Oth Street at AP# 030-160-006. From what I have been able to gain from the Butte County Development Services it appears to be a 28 unit project for 28 people. It looks like two people could be housed in each unit. The number could rise to over 50. Also Mr. Reed is not clear where these people are going to, come from. What is their criminal record? Will there be any child predators among them? They will all be on foot and: it will be a minimum of a 2 mile walk to any services to town. 1 This development is a 5 minute walk from Sierra Avenue School and young children and teens walk by going and leaving school. We have been robbed five times and since we put an alarm system in (1993) 1 can't tell you how many attempts have been made. For over 25 years our neighborhood has been terrorized by the street walkers at night . Please contact the three churches on this street, they all have been vandalized and robbed over the same time period. This is not the right place to place such a facility where Children are at risk and no sheriff patrol exists at a sufficient level to keep such a facility under check. Please help us by focusing some light on this matter. Once you look into this I think you will agree that this is not the place for such a Facility. Respectfully, Michael Lee Edwards 1219 10th Street Oroville, CA 95965 530-533-9287 z Base Camp Village, 10th Street AP#030-160-006 Attorney Ronald Alvin Reed, who specializes in Civil Rights, Criminal Law and DUI is developing a Transition Housing project of 28 units for the homeless. These units could hold up to 56 or more people. His project is scheduled to be developed at a 4.4 acre parcel across the street from 1219 and 1239 10th Street. When this project comes up for public review, letters will be sent to homes within 300 feet of the project. That means only four homes will be notified. If you wish to be notified by mail of the date and time of this upcoming meeting, please contact Butte County Development Services at County Center Drive, Oroville, or you can also call (530) 538-7150, so that you can attend the meeting and voice your concerns.
