Evacuation & Response
Dear Madam and Sirs,
I am writing to submit a formal request for the rescheduling of December 1 ith, 2018 TSMI7-0001 Leen
hearing. As you know, our community has been thrust into a widespread disaster response area, involving many
of us in assisting in humanitarian volunteer work (I am sure you know-and are also involved).
People from across the state have called to find out where they can be of assistance and some have come and
are still coming to stay and work . I have assisting in gathering information and helping direct media operators-
providing information to the rest of the country-& assistance to some first responders.
As clergy, we also find ourselves directly counseling those who have lost their only homes,their loved ones and
worldly possessions. Being such a tight knit community, I find that many of us have experienced a great
personal loss. Given the levity of the crisis we face now, I ask for your empathy and compassion, in a delay, as
we deal with what is before us.
I ask you to please, not press forward at this time. Recovery operations have not yet concluded. For clergy, I
believe you know what that means.
