Subject: Doubling of Septage Disposal Fees
Doug,
I hope you will not support the doubling of septage fees in your vote in the agenda item for March 27.The doubled fee
would be a hardship for many people and businesses in Paradise. Doubling the fee all of a sudden is too expensive and
too much a shock on people's budgets.
Please encourage your colleagues on the board to vote this measure down, and instead direct staff to gradually raise the
fee over time, if necessary.The County may have accrued debt for new infrastructure for handling septage, but Paradise
is largely unaware that we could suddenly have doubled fees.
Isn't there methane generation from septage that should help offset the costs?
I would appreciate a reply. Please make my comments public at the meeting and in the public record.
