Subject: Haff the service at a higher makes me mad
County Supervisors:
I am writing today to lodge a complaint about the forced change in any garbage and recycling service. I had
sufficient, reliable service with Recology for garbage and recycling pick up each week. Now for a substantially
higher fee, I have been switched to Waste Management garbage service with only half the recycling service. I
did not contract for yard waste service with Recology and do not need the yard waste service Waste
Management wants to alternate with my recycling. They do not offer a recycling bin any larger than the one I
fill to the top each week now. Customers with recycling service cut in half will end up putting the recycling into
the garbage after the bin fills. Every other week an entire bin of recyclable material will be dumped in the trash
because the service has been cut in half. Customers like me can't even go to a different service provider to get
the services we want and need. Less service and worse for the environment all for a higher cost is a bad idea. If
you are going to impose a monopoly, it is only reasonable for me to expect you to provide i-ne with the same
level of service—reliable, weekly garbage and recycling set-vice - without an increase in cost.
