z urge you to take whatever measures necessary to prevent the M&T Chico Ranch gravel
mine from becoming a reality. There is absolutely no reason for this area to be
mined for gravel . . . as yyou know, this has been stated by a manager of the Baldwin co
(and let's not forget that this is NOT a local company) . The proposed site should
remain under the Williamson Act so that it can provide food for the generations. The
neighbors should be able to continue their quiet farming/family lives. Chico must
not be plagued with gravel trucks coming through town (I live near the proposed
route, so this is more than an ideological concern for me) .
The environmental degradation that would ensue is excessive and egregious.
There has never been any good reson stated for this mine to be created. . . and there
are many good resons for it not to be. Please support your constituents by a
resounding NO to out-of-state interests. Please support the appeal and deny this
awful project.
