I wanted to make you aware of another arson arrest that took place yesterday. This one was in Magalia. This is
the 4th arrest for arson since January 1 by the fire departments fire investigators and working hand in hand
with the Butte County Sheriffs Department.

CAL FIRE Investigators Arrest Suspected Arsonist
Butte County-A suspected arsonist has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a travel, trailer on
Saturday, June 4 in the Paradise Pines Mobile Home Park in Magalia.
John Macomber, 52, of Maigalia was arrested on;, one count of arson to an inhabited property and was
booked into Butte County Jail. CAL FIRE investigators, with the assistance of Butte County Sheriff's
Office, arrested Macomber without incident on Thursday, June 9.
Macomber's bail is set at $250,000.
The fire was reported to CAL FIRE's Oroville Emergency Command Center at 4:14 p.m. on June
4. When fire department resources arrived they found a travel trailer fully engulfed in fire, with fire
spreading to two wooden fences.
