Brown Jr., Governor Fish and Game Commission Sonke Mastrup, Executive Director 1416 Ninth Street, Room 1320 Sacramento, CA 95814 {916) 653-4899 (916) 653-5040 Fax www.fgc.ca.gov CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME COMMISSION NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF PETITION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2073.3 of the Fish and Game Code, the California Fish and Game Commission, on September 25, 2012 received a petition from the Center for Biological Diversity to list the Clear Lake Hitch (Lavinia exilicauda chr~ as threatened or endangered under the California Endangered Species Act. Clear Lake Hitch have specific requiremen#s to complete their life-cycle, including access for unimpeded migration up tributary streams to suitable spawning habitat during the spring, and the ability for adults and young to return downstream to Clear Lake before tributary streams run dry or reduced flows and water depth result in migration barriers. Pursuant to Section 2073 of the Fish and Game Code, on September 26, 2012 the Commission transmitted the petition to the Department of Fish and Game for review pursuant to Section 2073.5 of said code. It is anticipated that the Department's evaluation and recommendation relating to the petition will be received by the Commission at its February, 2013 Commission meeting.
