Russell E:Burns,Member Napa Peter S.Silva,Member = - = Jamul Wildlife Heritage and Conservation Since 1870 CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME COMMISSION NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF PETITION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2073.3 of the Fish and Game Code, the California Fish and Game Commission (Commission), on July 23, 2018, received a petition from the Karuk Tribe and the Salmon River,Restoration Council to list Upper Klamath-Trinity River spring Chinook salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) as endangered under the California Endangered Species Act. Upper Klamath-Trinity River spring Chinook salmon occupy the main stems of the Klamath and Trinity rivers and tributaries during migration, spawning, and rearing; they also occupy the estuary and open ocean for variable time periods during maturation. Pursuant to Section 2073 of the Fish and Game Code, on August 2, 2018, the Commission transmitted the petition to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (Department) for review pursuant to Section 2073.5 of said code. The Commission will receive the petition at its October 17-18, 2018 meeting in Fresno. Consideration of the petition will be heard August 23, at 8:30 a.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the River Lodge Conference Center, 1800 Riverwalk Drive, Fortuna, California. The agenda of the August 23, 2018 meeting, and the agendas and video archive of previous meetings where actions were taken on Humboldt marten are available online at http://www.fgc.ca.govlmeetings/. Pursuant to the provisions of Fish and Game Code, sections 2075 and 2075.5, the Commission will consider the petition and all other information in the records before the Commission to determine whether listing Humboldt marten as a threatened or endangered species is warranted. The petition, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife evaluation reports, and other information in the records before the Commission are posted on the Commission website at http:llwww.fgc.ca.govlregulations120181index.aspx.
