It is the pleasure of Feather River Recreation and Park District to announce the hire of our new General
Manager, John L. Buck, III.
John, originally from California, spent the past 25 years in various positions at the County of Maui Parks
and Recreation. When he left the County of Maui, he held the position of Program Director and was a
past Deputy Director.
He is a certified Parks and Recreation Professional through the National Recreation and Parks
Association, is the Vice -President of the National Association of County Park and Recreation Officials,
and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Biological Science. In
addition, John is a published author of several books, his latest being a romance novel.
We are very pleased to have someone join our team who has a strong background in recreation and parks,
including a solid understanding of financial and personnel issues.
