Brown Jr., Governor Fish and Game Commission ii'#e' Sonke Mastrup, Executive i3irectar 1416 Ninth Street, Roam 132p Sacramento, CA 95814 (916) 653-4899 {916) 653-504t} Fax www.fgc.ca.gov CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME COMMISSION NOTICE OF FINDINGS Gray Illlolf (Canis lupus) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2074.2 of the Fish and Game Code, the California Fish and Game Commission, at its October 3, 2012, meeting in Sacramento, California, accep#ed for consideration the petition submitted to list the Gray Wolf (Canis Lupus) as an endangered species. A single, migrating wolf entered California from Oregon in 2012 and is the only member of his species currently alive in the state. His elimination, from any cause, will result in the ex#irpa#ion of the species within the state. Imminent human threats to his survival include: illegal take, vehicle collisions, and exposure to diseases from domestic animals. Pursuant to subdivision (a)(2} of Section 2074.2 of the Fish and Game Code, the aforementioned species is hereby declared a candida#e species as defined by Section 2068 of the Fish and Game Code. Within one year of the date of publication of this notice of f ndings, the Departmen# of Fish and Game shall submit a written report, pursuant to Sec#ion 2074.6 of the Fish and Game Cade, indicating whether the petitioned action is warranted.
