Sincerely, N heri�Tiemann Staff Services Analyst Attachment ,ja 4zve,-� (A-Avof CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME COMMISSION NOTICE OF RECEIPT OF PETITION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2073.3 of the Fish and Game Code, the California Fish and Game Commission, on January 27, 2010 received a petition from the Center for Biological Diversity to list the Mountain Yellow- Legged Frog (Rana muscosa and Rana sierrae) as an endangered species. Mountain frogs inhabit ponds, lakes, and streams at moderate to high elevations. The species is usually associated with montane riparian habitats in lodgepole pine, yellow pine, sugar pine, white fir, whitebark pine, and wet meadow vegetation types. Pursuant to Section 2073 of the Fish and Game Code, on February 4, 2010 the Commission transmitted the petition to the Department of Fish and Game for review pursuant to Section 2073.5 of said code.
