COMMISSION CALIFORNIA FISH AND GAME COMMISSION 2013NOV 14 PM 3: 07 NOTICE OF FINDINGS BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Townsend's Big-eared Bat lEC 2 1 2013 (Corynorhinus townsendit) OROVILLE,CALIF CIRtak NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2074:2 of the Fish and Game Code, the California Fish and Game Commission,at its June 26,2013,meeting in Sacramento,California, accepted for consideration the petition submitted to list the Townsends Big-eared Bat as a threatened or endangered species. The Commission determined, based on the best available science, the extensive information contained in the petition,the Department of Fish and Wildlife petition evaluation report,and oral testimony that designating Townsend's Big-eared Bat as an endangered or threatened species under CESA may be warranted(see Sections 2073.5 and 2074.2 of the Fish and Game Code). Pursuant to subdivision(a)(2)of Section 2074.2 of the Fish and Game Code,the aforementioned species is hereby declared a candidate species as defined by Section 2068 of the Fish and Game Code. Within one year of the date of publication of this notice of findings,the Department of Fish and Wildlife shall submit a written report, pursuant to Section 2074.6 of the Fish and Game Code, indicating whether the petitioned action is warranted.
