Subject- B.C.G.P.A.0 for- East Butte
[)ear Mr. Gosselin,
I would like to be considered for one of the positions on the east butte
advisory committee. I have been involved in trying to help protect Butte's
groundwater for quite a few years. I rely mainly on groundwater for my
rice and almond farming with only a small portion of rice ground serviced
by Western Canal. I understand it will take a lot of time which I don't
have but would be willing to rearrange my schedule to perform this task. I
understand Gary Cole is also interested in this position and woul'd
recommend him over me because he has more knowledge in this area and
being semi-retired he would have more time. Thank you for consideration.

Good Afternoon Paul —
'.rhe Butte County Farni Bureau is pleased to see interest From individuals in the Groundwater
Pumpers Advisory Committee.
Given the importance of this committee we urge the Board of Supervisors to seat the right people
for the committee and not just the people who added their name to the list. I realize time is of the
essence but haphazardly appointing a conunitteeJust to check a box on the to-do list is not in the
best interest of grOUndwater pumpers in Butte County.
I would also ask that the resolution that was approved be re,,iewed and that those who apply
ineet all of the requirements as stated below.
a. Eight independent groundwater pumpers (two fi-orn each of the four sub-basins).
b. One environmental representative preferably with scientific and/or technical credentials
relevant to environmental use ol"groundwater within the groundwater basins within Butte County
and preferably a groundwater purnper.
c. Ability to commit to attending meetings of the GPAC and other identified meetings of the
SGMA process where groundwater purnper input is sought;
d. Willingness, to serve as a liaison to other groundwater purnpers in their basin to offer
communications and information on the SGMA process.
The Butte County Farm Bureau supports the following applicants for the GPAC:
Vina—John Schooling and Darren Rice
East Butte — Greg Sohnrey
West Butte — Les Heringer and Charlie Edgar
Wyandotte Creek— Jon Lavy and Dr. David Daley
Thank You 17or your attention to this very important Butte County topic,
I
