Dear Mr. Snellings,
This letter is in response to a letter we received from your department, dated July 5, 2012,
concerning rezoning the property we reside at and a meeting on July 26~ to discuss this rezoning.
We have lived at 1099 El Monte Avenue in Chita for 23 years. It is our understanding that the
Department of Developmental Services was in the process of zoning our area VLDR (Very Low
Density Residential} when a small group of people claiming to represent all residents on El Monte
intervened and convinced Developmental Services to propose to rezone to VLDCR [Very Low
Density Country Residential).
As El Monte residents, we want to be on record against the proposed rezoning to VLDCR. We also
want to be on retard rn support of the Department's original zoning of VLDR, which we think is
much more compatible with our area.
The VLDCR proposed rezoning is so restrictive it would eventually zone out two businesses, Ever's
Veterinary Clinic and the Music Express lnn, that have been on El Monte for 50 years and 28 years
respectively. Both of these valued establishments rely on their businesses to provide their
retirement. The proposed rezoning to VLDCR would effectively nullify their lifetime investment.
