Hello all,
This is an informational note to let you know that on Thursday and Friday of fast week Animal Control seized
15 horses for being severely underweight, having untreated injuries and running at large on roadways. These
horses were part of the All About the Animals equine rescue in Oroville. The rescue currently has 38 horses on
its property. We have been working with the owner of this rescue organization for several months to work
toward improving the condition of the rescued animals to no avail. The owner previously did return our
phone calls and responded to our posted notices, but then ceased returning our phone calls. During that time
we continued to receive complaint calls from members of the public regarding the condition of the horses. All
of this led to our re- evaluation of the condition of the horses on Wednesday, taking a veterinarian with staff
on Thursday which resulted in seizing 8 horses that day and the remaining 7 on Friday.
The owner of the rescue is rallying many horse lovers/owners via emails to the media and through her own
website as well as her Facebook page...as a result I will be connecting with the media to give at least one
interview tomorrow, perhaps more, This case will go to the DA and the owner of the rescue has requested a
post seizure hearing which is her right, the hearing will be held on Wednesday of this week. If you have any
