Dear Ms. Moghannam and the Butte County Board of Supervisors:
Hydrovolts is a start-up focused on revolutionizing distributed energy generation. We have invented a new
turbine technology that generates electricity from moving water currents, with minimal construction or
permitting. This technological advance allows the waterways that terrace the United States to be transformed
into new sources of energy, with potential for local jabs manufacturing these turbines. We have searched
throughout the state for the ideal mixture of site suitability and institutional progressiveness for our first
Californian demonstration site. We found that mixture in Butte County, with the Butte Water District. We
anticipate that we will install our first California canal turbine within the summer, making Butte County the first
county in California to test this new technology.
We are thrilled with these successes and the reception we have experienced in Butte, and recognize that credit is
due to the Butte County Economic Development Corporation. Debra's efforts in connecting us with her
colleagues in government and industry allowed us to appropriately approach and manage important stakeholder
relationships. She sewed as an invaluable advocate of our concept and technology, and has acted as an
important sounding board for our local strategies and reception.
We look forward to relying on BCEDC in the future as we continue to expand in Butte County and beyond.
