To Whom it may concern or may be of interest,
I apologize for the late timing of this information, but I only learned of this event today. I feel this
is a very important invitation for all local elected officials, past, present, and those candidates who
may be running for an elected office in the future, to attend. I would recommend, if your schedule
allows this on such short notice, that you consider attending this event.
This CLEO event has been held in Southern and Central California and now is being hosted in the
Northern area. It is my understanding, from the new executive director, that this day has been very
well received by all the local elected officials that have attended and they said that these type of
events should be held more frequently. They found it extremely helpful. I will attached the
invitation to this email, with all the information needed to attend, if you are interested.
I, also, ask you to forward this on to anyone in Northern California, that might be interested in
attending. You may be wondering just what is CLEO and what is it all about.
California Local Elected Officials (CLEO) is a membership organization that networks, educates,
supports and advises Local Elected Officials throughout California's thousands of cities, counties,
schools and special districts.
CLEO members are elected officials who stand for financial sustainability, government
transparency and personal liberty. They often operate in isolation. They can't count on independent
policy assessments from their fellow officials, and often not even from the city staffers whose self-
interest
elfinterest and training guides them toward more costly government. Powerful special interests apply
constant pressure to already strained agency budgets.
CLEO supports this courageous minority. Through its website (calocalelectedofficials.or ,
supplemented by regional training programs and "hotline" emergency services, CLEO offers policy
guidance, detailed financial financial analyses, legal advice and communications support.
CLEO is a project of the nonprofit California Policy Center.
For more information on this organization, visit the website listed above.
