T ..,.ty �'t ✓4}.I I h 5,s :sr'Cv r Svc ., ° $ f� ,�-} ! 6� t ',f f C--� f C' September 19, 2018 Oroville Salmon Festival Information and Road Access Update Oroville Salmon Festival On Saturday, September 22, the city of Oroville hosts the annual Salmon Festival to celebrate the return of salmon to the Feather River. This free event is organized through a partnership between many organizations in the community and DWR is a major supporter. The Salmon Festival runs along the Feather River between the Fish Hatchery and downtown historic Oroville, offering numerous activities to area visitors. Including the events listed below, the public can sign up for DWR-guided river raft tours to learn and see salmon in their natural habitat. Information about this event and other Festival activities can be found on the Oroville Area Chamber of Commerce's website at https://www.orovillechamber.com/salmon-festival/. Fish Hatchery 5 Table Mountain Blvd • 9am to 3pm • FREE TOURS See the salmon run first-hand from the observation platform and the windows into the water. Learn how the Hatchery promotes healthy salmon populations. Free Guided Tours every half hour. Downtown Street Fair Historic Downtown Oroville • 19am to 3pm • FREE ENTRY 1 Take a stroll through historic Downtown Oroville and enjoy music, food, crafts, and fun! Organized by the Oroville Downtown Business Association. Salmon Court On the Downtown Levee • 10am to 4pm • FREE ENTRY Visit Salmon Court and enjoy fresh barbecued and smoked salmon, cartoonist Jon Shultz, the Oroville Hospital Health Fair, kids art activities, and more. 3K Salmon Color Dash Walk/Run Oroville Centennial Plaza • 8:30am • Adults $25, Kids 12 and Under $15 This event is the perfect blend of exercise and fun, with a huge dose of color! Old Ferry Road The city of Oroville re-opened a portion of Old Ferry Road to vehicles and foot traffic the week of September 10. Vehicle access beyond the bath house is currently prohibited. DWR will perform roadwork repairs on the closed section of Old Ferry Road leading to Thermalito Dam beginning September 24. Visitors are cautioned to be aware of construction activities. Oro Dam Blvd. East A reminder to the public, Oroville Dam Boulevard East between Glen Drive and Canyon Drive reopened to the public last month. Work continues on an underground transmission line project along Oro Dam Boulevard East between Glen Drive and Canyon Drive. One-way traffic controls are in place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will continue until the project is complete in mid-October. This section of road has a reduced speed limit of 25 mph and designated turnouts for parking and observing construction work. The project's additional work on Glen Drive between Oro Dam Blvd. East and Oro Quincy Highway also includes one-way traffic controls.
