A flood control'' season operations plan is in place to guide reservoir operations between November 1 this year and April 2018. This plan calls for DWR to maintain lower-than-average lake levels during', the winter months to provide space for incoming rain and snowmelt. This plan was developed by DWR with input from the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the California Division of Safety of Gams. Weather permitting, construction activities to improve the emergency spillway will continue through the winter. Construction will ramp up on both main and emergency spillways next spring. DWR will continue to, inform the public about construction activities and spillway operations through email updates and public notices. DWR will issue a public update if we intend to use the spillways in the coming months (this will include a translated notification in Spanish, Hmong and Punjabi).
