Dear Chairman Connelly:
As a result of the devastating wildfire which destroyed the Atria Paradise facility located
at 1007 Buschmann Road, Paradise, California 95969, Atria Management Company, LLC is
closing operations at that location. The first employment separations related to the closure of the
facility will begin on or about December 21, 2018 — affected employees will be separated from
employment during a 14-day period beginning on this date.
A list of job titles and the number of employees currently holding affected positions
accompanies this letter as Attachment A. Affected employees are not represented by a labor
organization and do not have bumping rights.
To the extent that this closure otherwise would constitute a covered event under the
federal and/or California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, it constitutes a
natural disaster/physical calamity. We were unable to provide this notice of employment
separations earlier because we were reviewing options for alternative Atria employment and
coordinating our response to employees.
