Dear Cornmunity Leader:
Our office is in the process of collecting information on potential
legislative proposals. It is essential that we receive input from the local
communities as to specific needs which can only be addressed
legislatively.
The window of opportunity to submit new legislation for 2009 is small.
Bv the end of January, we must provide legislative counsel with most of
the information they need to begin creating new bills. Please take a
minute to discuss with your colleagues, staff, and boards issues which
VOU believe need to be addressed this upcoming legislative cycle. We ask
that you provide us with details on the issue, possible groups which may
support or oppose, and a contact name with a telephone number. Our
Chief of Staff, Mark Reeder will be compiling all requests for 2009. If
possible, please respond to Mark via email at mark,rcedeLa,','sen.ca,'gov by
Friday, December 5th.
These are difficult times for all of California, vet we have so many
reasons to give thanks. I look forward to hearing from you on areas of
concern and suggestions for improvement.
