Re: Appointment of Treasurer-Tax Collector
Honorable Board Members:
The former Treasurer-Tax Collector, Dick Puelicher, now deceased, stated to me in 2004 that he
was extremely fortunate to be able to hire a person of Ms. Peggy Moak's caliber with an
extensive background in banking, including mortgage and consumer loan generation, personnel
issues and customer service.
The current Treasurer-Tax Collector, Linda Barnes, promoted Peggy from Manager, Finance &
Investment in 2008 to Assistant Treasurer Treasurer-Tax Collector in recognition of her many
accomplishments within the department. Peggy oversees the banking operations for the
Treasury, providing accurate and professional service. She has focused on streamlining
operations, utilizing new electronic services to improve efficiencies and customer service.
I personally know Peggy to be a team player and very responsive to other departments' needs.
She put in much time and effort with the early projections of debt service payments for the
"Hall of Records". She approached the task with much diligence and research to be able to
answer not only my concerns, but to give me a complete picture.
I am sure that Peggy Moak will carry on with the same superb judgment, prudent investment
policies and dedication that has been the hallmark of the department under the former
leadership. I highly recommend Peggy Moak for the position of Treasurer-Tax Collector.
