Chico,CA 95928 the health of our region's economy and seek to make sure our elected officials continue to
reach decisions on key issues that help beep our local economy strong.
(800)852-8570 Toward that end,our Board of Directors is urging you to deny the appeal of the Butte
(530)891-5556 County Planning Commission's approval of the proposed Baldwin Contracting gravel
FAX 891-3613 mine at the M&T Ranch. We believe this gravel mine,over 10-years in the development
process, should be approved. Although located in an area of prime agricultural land, the
site itself is not,and the site has been a source of aggregate for decades. The reclamation
plan will ensure permanent wildlife habitat after mining has ceased. A source of
aggregate closer to Chico will not increase overall truck trips,but will significantly reduce
the length of those trips and the consumption of diesel fuel will be reduced by 2 million
gallons over the life of the project.
Please deny the appeal and allow the project to move forward.
