RE: Public Works
I am writing to let you know how the people you were elected to serve, the public, are
treated by the Department of Public Works. There is consistent chaos and confusion.
I have started keeping track of the number of days it takes to even get a reply from this
department, let a lone a permit.
• The first permit being tracked was in the hands of Public Works for 10 days before
issuing a letter in error requesting additional information—a deed of creation
which should not and is not required. Once I contacted Public Works and
reminded them of this, the matter was resolved. In so doing, Public Works issued
a written apology that also stated they were confused.
▪ As of today's date (9/5/13) the second permit has been in the hands of Public
Works for 49 days and I have yet to even receive a reply.
• The third permit is for me personally for a septic. It has been 24 days with no
reply.
I work in other counties besides Butte and most permits are signed and ready within 3
days. How many other contractors,constituents and customers have to suffer this same
harassment and hardship meo �heads and/or give them the e your Public Works manpowerBoard
and needs to
replace ineffective department
equipment so that they may provide good customer service as many of the other
departments do.
