There is clearly momentum building across the nation to limit or ban tracking, alternative well
stimulation and the re-injection of resulting waste water. More cities and counties in California
and New York state recognize the danger to groundwater, air, health and to earthquake risk
that these water intensive technologies pose as currently conducted. I urge you not to let your
action of April 8th, 2014 whither on the vine in the face of petroleum industry opposition.
Please consider agendizing for your meeting of the 291h of July the ordinance that the County
Counsel's office has developed under your direction with a view of forwarding it to the County
Planning Commission for review. Please respond to the over 10,000 citizens of Butte County who
have voiced their urgent concern.
I request that you let me know your plans and place this letter in the public record.
