To Mr. Connelly,
The last time I(Kathy)spoke to you on the phone(May, 2008),your last
comment to me was"I thought you were leaving.". My husband has been with the same
employer in this county for 19 years. We have almost 14 years of"Sweat equity" invested
in this property. This is our home and we are NOT leaving. You CANNOT cure a
problem by running away from it! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!
We are still having problems with county employees believing that they do NOT
need to take care of their responsibilities to ALL concerned. It appears that this county
needs to change its policies concerning things like drug and alcohol related abused and
neglected children, failing septic systems, abused and neglected dogs, burning of trash,
illegal trash dumping on other people's properties, etc.
We are aware of the current financial problems in this county. Some of these
problems are, however, "self inflicted". Most of the"Grant Monies"this county is
accustomed to receiving for its"Assistance"Programs are either no longer available or
dwindling down to nothing.
If you GIVE a man a fish, you feed him for a day(and take AWAY his self-
respect). But; if you TEACH a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime(and help him to
REGAIN his self-respect). "Welfare programs"are so abused these days, they CAUSE
more problems than they cure!
It is time for this county to respect the people that ACUALLY support it and
learn,to "stand on its own two feet".
Your constituents,
