HomeMy WebLinkAboutLetter from Kay L. Stewart - Fire Danger in Paradise BUTTE COUNTY AWNISTRATION November 7, 2017 NOV 0 8 2:017 ()RQV'LLF,CALIFORNY, Butte County Board of Supervisors 25 County Center Drive, #205 Oroville, CA 95965 Dear Board Members: We were in Calistoga staying at the RV park at the fairgrounds when the Tubbs fire broke out in early October. The winds were extreme and whirling and, as you know, quickly carried the fire throughout a vast area to cause death and destruction. This, of course, makes us think of Paradise and the fire danger here. We would like to see a big effort made to clear the area of dead trees, brush, and other flammable hazards. Scotch Broom seems to be very prevalent and just adds to the problem. Perhaps there is already an ordinance in place dealing with this issue, and if there is I hope it will be enforced. I thought I'd write asking you to address my fears/worries/concerns. Thank you for your time and response. Sincerely, (Mrs.) Kay L. Stewart 1455 Kilcrease Circle Paradise, CA 95969
