Dear Supervisors:
The All Facilities Letter (AFL) 10-28 from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
requires that an acute care hospital notify the County Board of Supervisors at least 30 days
before closing or relocating supplemental services. This letter serves as notice that Enloe
Medical Center is relocating the Enloe Orthopedic and Trauma ginics, now located at 560 Cohasset
Road, Chico, CA 95926.
The new location for this combined dinic will be 1600 Esplanade, Suite C, Chico, CA 95926. We
anticipate last date of service at the current location will be Thursday, February 27, 2014. The first day
of service at the new location is planned for March 4, 2014, contingent upon licensing approval by
CDPH.
AFL 10-28 also directs that this notification include the three nearest available comparable
services. However, there are no comparable services. To clarify, this service is a non-
emergent follow up clinic for patients who have been treated by Enloe Trauma or Orthopedic
Services, as well as patients who have been referred to our services after being evaluated at
Enloe Emergency Department or Prompt Care. The new location is about a mile from the former
location and patients will receive notification of the new address when their follow up visits
are scheduled so the impact to patients will be minimal. Patients who may use public
transportation should also see minimal effect because both locations are directly on bus
routes.
AFL SO-28 also stipulates notice of this transition 1) be sent to CDPH, the local office of which
is in Chico, and 2) be publicly posted at the current location. Both have been done.
Finally, as directed in the AFL, the facility administrator to whom interested parties may offer
