ADMINISTRATION
OCT 212013
OROVILLE.CALIFORNIA
To the citizens of Butte County,
I would like to start by congratulating the supervisors in the counties of
Siskiyou and Modock for their efforts to separate Northern California from
California and form a new state.
I urge our supervisors to take the same steps for Butte County. You may ask,
"Why should they take this action?" The reasons are simple, our State Legislature
was formed on the basis of populations. Consider the number of state legislators
from Northern California compared with those form the coastal cities and
Sacramento. Los Angeles alone has eleven (11) state legislators. As far as federal
representation, if we were able to separate Northern California from California, we
would then have two (2) representatives in the Senate and one (1) in the House in
Washington D.C..
The life style, morals and priorities of the coastal cities and Sacramento are
different from those of us in the north. Many of the laws they pass are detrimental
to our lifestyle and our morals. Their laws are damaging to our economy and cost
us jobs.
Our tax dollars are used for their special interests and exploit our natural
resources. I personally care deeply for Butte County, my first ancestors arrived
here in 1848 and nine (9) generations have live in Butte County with the last five
(5) generations still here.
I hope you will support forming a new state so that we can preserve our
destiny and life style, please call our supervisors' in support of this action.
Floyd Rogers, Jr.
