RE: Butte County Department of Water and Resource Conservation Staff
Dear Board Members,
In light of the County's current economic situation, we acknowledge that the Board has
many difficult decisions to make. The purpose of this letter is to highlight the importance
of the Water and Resource Conservation staff to the citizens of Butte County. After 3
below normal rainfall years, record low reservoir levels, and increasing pressure to export
our water, we need all of the capacity we have to protect the County's interest. The
current staff has the experience, skill, and ongoing relationships within the water
community, to accomplish this very difficult and critical task.
As members of the Water Commission we urge you to not diminish the capacity of the
Butte County Water and Resource Conservation Department at this critical time.
