Dear Supervisor Connelly: OROVtLtE, CALrFpRNlA
On March 241h, you will be asked to make some very serious
financial decisions regarding Butte County. The citizens on The
Upper Ridge have concerns about the impact of not making
community safety top priority. This past summer we were
subjected to the travesty of fires rampaging through our county.
Thanks to the County Fire Service, these conditions were managed
to reduce loss of life and property. It is our understanding, that the
County Fire Service is scheduled for a dramatic reduction in
financing, station closures, stations operating on a rotating basis
and staff reductions. This will result in extremely higher risk
for loss of lives and property in our community.
The Upper Ridge Coordinating Council has gone on record
in opposition to any reduction of fire protection services in Butte
County.
Kindest regards,
0azau @.5C.
