- Dear Supervisors:
The Chico Friends of the Library regret the impending loss of the current Butte County Library
Director, Linda Mielke. We encourage the Supervisors to immediately begin a search far a
permanent replacement.
When Butte County last had a resignation of its Library Director, an interim director was hired.
The Chico Friends of the Library suggest that at this time, no interim library director be appointed.
From the perspective of the Friends, the appointment of ab interim director was very expensive and
not positive or productive for the Butte County Library, We feel conf dent that the.current Library
Managers will maintain services in their branches with the cooperation of the Library
Administrative Assistant and the Butte County Chief .Administrative Officer.
