8. South Butte County Municipal Court - Oroville
and Gridley Branch - applications for discharge
from accountability for collection of judicial
district fines, assessments, or penalties have been
submitted pursuant to Government Code Section
25257. Traffic cases will be cleared when the
defendant applies for a driver's license or a
license renewal, and criminal cases will clear when
the defendant is arrested on a warrant of arrest.
The court will attempt full collection at that
time. Such discharge from accountability does not
constitute a release of any person from

21. Architect agreement - Jail kitchen remodel - an
agreement has been prepared with Lionakis-Beaumont
Design Group to provide architectural and
engineering service for the remodel of the existing
jail kitchen. The amount of the agreement is
$67,300, plus reimbursable expenses estimated at
$5,100 which will be funded with State Jail Bond
Act monies and $39,846 in local funding which was
identified in the budget for jail kitchen

22. 1994-95 Families for Literacy Program Services
Grant - the California State Library has invited
Butte County Library - Literacy to apply for
funding from the California Library Services Act
(Education Code Section 18735) for continuing
participation in this program (the exact amount of
funds available will not be known until the State
budget is signed). Funds are used for materials
and staff to address the problems of
intergenerational illiteracy in eligible adult
learner families - action requested - APPROVE
GRANT APPLICATION AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR-
LIBRARIES TO SIGN.
23. Executive search firm - action requested - BOARD
AUTHORIZATION TO ENGAGE THE FIRM OF RALPH ANDERSON
& ASSOCIATES TO CONDUCT RECRUITMENTS FOR THE
POSITIONS OF DIRECTOR-PUBLIC WORKS AND DIRECTOR-

24. Private Industry Council (PIC)/County of Butte -

26. 1993-94 AIDS agreement with the State Department of
Health Services - proposed is an amendment to the
agreement which increases the maximum amount
payable by the State for HIV testing services by

CHAIR TO SIGN.
27. 1993-94 Rural Health Services (RHS) - in accordance
with Section 16900 et seq. of the Welfare and
Institutions Code, Proposition 99 RHS Other funds
will be used to supplement the unreimbursed costs
of providing medical services to medically indigent
County residents. The allocation of funds will be
administered by the County through contracts with
selected medical providers (Enloe Hospital/$20,666;
