He stated that this bill has been intx•oduced to-bar the use of steel traps for trapping animals. The Board of Supervisors had received a resal.ution from Placer County opposing this bill. He e~eplained why he was requesting opposition to the bill. He said that if these traps-were prohibited, then there would be a greater use of poison tha`~ might harm the animals in the county. County Counsel stated that he could prepare a letter n support;rof Placer County°s •resolution apposing this bill. It was stated that the 1e•tter should be sent to Senator Marler, Assemblyman Johnson and to CSAC. Mr, Black felt-the fees for dumping of these containers should not be set too high; he said he would like to propose the fol"lowing chargeb: Pickups $1.00 per load Ton and a half trucks 2.00 ° 11 Two and one half ton trucks -3.00 " °Y All larger trucks 5.00 B9 " Charges discussed. It was felt that these were proper charges. Nx. Toussaint skid they made a study concerning the dexa9ity of the development that might be allowed in this area. Mr. Toussaint i*?troduced Mr. Gentry and another representative from the Department of Water Resources.. He stated that they,diave discussed the possible study. by the people frr~m the Department of Water Resources of the development in that area. Mr. 2'oussaint stated that he feels that this study. is needed, He said they would like to hear the Board°s views on this mattex•. Page 327. They are made on a 50 50 matching basis. General funds-are used. It was stated that Paradise . Irrigation District is interested in protecting the water quality. M'r, Gentry stated that to manage water properly,. you: have to understand the quality of it, He said the studies :that they have been involved in have been to study .development around the storage-areas. Mr. Gentry stated that they would request that the County write them a letter setting out what would be desired in this study; then they would make an estimate of what such a study would cost, They would have to have some undex'standing of what data would. be required, He said that cost-would depend on the scope of the study. The Health Department would supply what they think the County needs to give them for the planning of development. in that area. Mr. Toussaint said that the Health Department could request a proposal -from the Department of Water Resources, setting ost the scope of the s•~udy. Time spent discussing the proposal.. It-was moved by Supervisor McKil3op, seconded by Supervisor Ma?~on and unanimously carried, that it was the intent of this Board to have the ?iealth Department write a letter to the Department of Water Resources requesting that the Water Resources Department present their proposal, and that the Health Department representatives secure the view of Paradise Irrigation District in this. matter and report back to the Board9 at which time the Board will mane their detex'mination as to whether the study should be made. 71-1036 PRESENTATION OF PROCEEDINGS s PARADYSE PYI~dES US~'T N0. 4 and. 8 ASSESSMSAd'l' DISTRICT Robert Brunsell, attorney at law, appeared to present the proceedings in connectio~t with the Paradise Pi?~es Unit No, ~ and $ Assessment Districts, He state3 that petitions have been presented for the formation of the district, representing owners of more than sixty ger cent of the property, The following documents. were accepted and filed as part of the recardss 1, Engineer°s Estimate of Cost 2. Engineer°s Report, plans and specifications 3, Notice-inviting sealed bids 4, Notice of improvement.
