7. Probation equipment -Board authorization is requested to
purchase five electronic typewriters to replace other models,
$2,500 and replacement carpeting for the lower floor of the
department, $7,000. Budget transfer B-203 has been prepared to

8. Special District Augmentation Fund -Revenue and Taxation Code
Section 98.6 provides for the notification of special districts
of the estimated amount of funds available in the fund and a
time schedule for conducting the public hearing. The Auditor's
estimate far 1988-89 is $1,170,040 -action requested -
AUTHORIZE APPROPRIATE NOTICES TO SPECIAL DISTRICTS REGARDING
SPECIAL DISTRICT AUGMENTATION FUND AND SET A PUBLIC HEARING FOR
JUNE 28, 1988 AT 11:00 A,M.
9. Salary ordinance amendment - a salary ordinance has been
prepared implementing the classification and compensation review
for sanitarian and nursing classificatians called for as part of
the General Unit Memorandum of Understanding. The ordinance
increases the salaries far community health aide, senior
community health aide, and health care aides by 12-1/2 percent;
with 7-1/2 percent effective on April 2, 1988 and five percent
effective on September 3, 1988 - action requested - WAIVE THE
SECOND READING AND ADOPT ORDINANCE 2683.
10. Salary ordinance amendment - as a result of a classification
study of the Evidence and Identification Section within the
Sheriff's Department, the classificatians of records and
identification technician I/II were created. The ordinance
changes the title of two positions of records and identification
technician to records and identification technician II and
reclassifies a typist clerk T/II position to records and
identification technician I -action requested -WAIVE THE
SECOND READING AND ADOPT ORDINANCE 26$4.
11. Salary ordinance amendment - the ordinance increases salaries
far supervising building inspectors and senior building plan
checkers by ten percent. In addition, the Personnel Airector
requests authorization to hire a senior building plan checker at
step C -action requested - WAIVE THE FIRST READING OF THE
ORDINANCE AND AUTHORIZE HIRING A SENIOR BUILDING PLAN CHECKER AT
STEP C OF THE SALARY RANGE.
12. Resolution concerning changes in roads maintained by the
county - action requested - ADOPT RESOLUTION 88-062 AND
AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
13. Resolution in memory of Jack Madigan - action requested -ADOPT
RESOLUTION 88-463 AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
14. Approval of plans and specifications for reconstruction of
Grainland Road from Aguas Frias Road to one mile east and from

16. Contractor's release - the State Department of Health Services
has requested a contractor's release for the 1986-87 Women,

APPROVE CONTRACTOR'S RELEASE AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
17. Amendment No. 13 -Gridley Transportation Services - the
amendment provides for continuing the Gridley Flyer subsidized
taxi for senior citizens and handicapped in the Gridley area at
an estimated cost to Butte County in the amount of $5,000 to be
funded from Transportation and Development Act {SB 325? funds -
action requested - APPROVE CONTRACT AMENDMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE
CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
18. Amendment No. 6 - Western Greyhound Lines Co. agreement - the
amendment provides for continuing general public transit
services on Western Greyhound Lines Co. buses at subsidized
rates to a maximum of $5.000 for fiscal year 1988-89 to be
funded from Transportation and Development Act {SB 325? funds -
action requested - APPROVE CONTRACT AMENDMENT AND AUTHORIZE THE
CHAIRMAN TO SIGN.
19, UMTA Section 18 grant application - Public Works has prepared an
application to the Urban Mass Transportation Administration
Section 18 Program to fund the purchase of a replacement bus for
Butte County Transit. The amount of the grant is $88,384, with
the estimated cost of the bus $150,000 - action requested -
APPROVE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDING AND AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR
OF PUBLIC WORKS TO SIGN THE STANDARD CERTIFICATIONS AND
ASSURANCES REQUIRED BY THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION
ADMINISTRATION.
20. 1988 Summer Food Program - the Community Action Agency requests
Board authorization to administer the 1988 U. S. Department of
Agriculture Summer Food Program in Butte County at an estimated

ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER IN WORKING WITH THE WATER COMMISSION
NEGOTIATE WITH THEM AS TO HOW THEY ARE GOING TO PAY FOR IT;
DEVELOP SOME CONTRACTS; AND ALSO THAT A REPORT FROM THE
WATER COMMISSION BE MADE ON THE JUNE 21, 1988 AGENDA TO
INCLUDE ADVISING THE BDARD OF THE STANDING OF THE WATER
SPECIALIST POSITION WHICH THE BDARD REQUESTED THEY DEVELOP
A SET OF SPECS FOR, AND THE STATUS OF THEIR NEGOTIATIONS,

THIS LOT WOULD BE RENDERED UNBUILDABLE; FURTHER STRICT
